Our telehealth services provide families with access to professional therapy guidance and support wherever they are located. Online consultations can be particularly useful for families who live further away, are travelling, are unable to attend the clinic regularly or would benefit from additional support between in-person sessions.
Telehealth consultations may be used for developmental concerns, follow-up appointments, parent and caregiver coaching, home program reviews and progress monitoring. Depending on the child's needs, online sessions may be provided by a paediatric physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
During a session, we can observe your child moving, playing and completing activities within their own home environment. This can provide valuable insight into how they manage everyday movements, activities and routines. We can then guide parents and caregivers through appropriate activities, demonstrate techniques and suggest practical strategies that can be incorporated into daily life. For children already receiving therapy, telehealth can also be used to review progress, adjust home activities and provide ongoing guidance when regular face-to-face sessions are not possible.
While telehealth can be a valuable part of therapy, it does not replace hands-on assessment or treatment when this is required. If we feel that your child would benefit from an in-person assessment, further investigation or face-to-face therapy, we will discuss this with you and recommend the most appropriate next step.
Our aim is to make professional support accessible, practical and relevant to everyday family life, while ensuring that each child receives the type of care that best suits their individual needs.
