Assessment does not end with a score. Our aim is to translate the findings into information that is meaningful and useful for the child and their family. Following the assessment, we discuss our findings with parents or caregivers and explain what we have observed and how this may relate to the child's everyday functioning. Where appropriate, recommendations may include therapy, home activities, strategies for school, further assessment or referral to another professional.
Written assessment reports can be provided when required and may include assessment results, clinical observations, interpretation of findings and practical recommendations. Reports can also be prepared for schools, doctors and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Where ongoing therapy is provided, reassessment can be used at appropriate intervals to objectively monitor progress, review goals and adapt the therapy program as the child's needs change.
Ultimately, our assessments are designed not simply to identify what a child finds difficult, but to build a clear picture of their strengths, challenges and functional abilities, allowing us to make informed recommendations that support their development, independence and participation in everyday life.
